Who we are
We are TFP Group, a small team based in Tokyo. Discover EN is our English-language hub, where we host two distinct things: (1) free 2-minute personality quizzes built on validated research instruments like the ECR Scale and adult attachment theory — short and shareable, the kind of fun quiz you take when you're bored, but actually grounded in psychology — and (2) curated Japan travel guides covering Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Fuji, Sapporo, and Hiroshima — written from the inside, in English, with Google Maps links and honest local picks.
Our Japanese-language hub at Discover JP hosts 42 self-reflection quizzes for a Japanese audience. The English side is built for the millions of US, UK, Canadian, and Australian readers looking for something to do when bored — a quick, intelligent way to kill time on the commute, before bed, in the waiting room — and for travelers planning their first or fifth trip to Japan.
What we don't do: we don't sell your data, we don't gatekeep results behind paywalls, we don't pretend our short tests replace therapy, and we don't pretend our travel guides are exhaustive. What we do: we build the most honest, useful tools we can, link to validated longer instruments where they exist, and recommend professional help when it's the right move.
If you're a researcher, therapist, or affiliate partner interested in working with us, reach out via our company site.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's a fun quiz to take when I'm bored?
If you have 2 minutes, our Attachment Style Test maps how you connect in relationships (Secure, Anxious, Avoidant, or Disorganized), and the Stress Response Style Test reveals your default survival mode under pressure (Fighter, Runner, Freezer, Pleaser). Both are research-grounded but read like fun personality quizzes — perfect for killing time on your commute, in bed, or on a lunch break.
Are these quizzes really free? Do I need to sign up?
Yes — every quiz on Discover EN is completely free with no signup, no email, no paywall. You take the quiz, see your full personalized result, and that's it. We don't sell your data. Display ads keep the lights on.
How long do these personality tests take?
Both current quizzes are 12 questions and take about 2 minutes — designed for the small windows of free time you actually have. No 100-question marathon, no padding. We're building more (Dating App Burnout Type, Conflict Style Profile, Boundary Style) launching in Q3-Q4 2026.
Can I take the quizzes on my phone?
Yes. The whole site is mobile-first. The quizzes use a chat-style interface that works one-handed on iOS and Android. No app to install. Works on slow 4G — we keep it lightweight on purpose.
Are these clinical assessments?
No. They're self-reflection tools inspired by validated research instruments like the ECR Scale (attachment) and Pete Walker's 4F framework (stress response). They're not clinical diagnoses and don't replace therapy. If something resonates with real distress, we point to BetterHelp and similar resources at the end of relevant tests.
What's the difference between this and a BuzzFeed quiz?
BuzzFeed quizzes are pure fun ("Which pizza topping are you?"). Ours sit in between fun and serious — short and shareable like a fun quiz, but the questions and types are grounded in actual psychology research. So you get something to share with friends AND something genuinely useful about how you connect, react, and relate.
